Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience required License: Valid RN license required Certifications: BCLS required Must-Have: - Epic experience required - Previous travel experience preferred - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Accessing ports - Arterial line management - Blood product administration - Central line care/management - PICC line management - IV start - Assist with chest tube insertion/removal - High flow nasal cannula management - Interpretation of ABGs Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. The position involves rotating shifts which may include days, nights, or a combination depending on departmental needs. Assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period. Patients may require continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration. Care includes managing soft tissue malignancies receiving diagnostic services, chemotherapy, and symptom management. Focus on symptom management related to disease treatment or progression is necessary. Nurses will also manage comorbidities. There is a significant emphasis on infection prevention protocols and fall risk reduction. Clinical skills required include the use of telemetry monitoring systems, bladder scanners, and infusion pumps. Daily census is typically around 36 patients, with all patients requiring adult and geriatric care. Interdisciplinary support services are provided, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Common diagnoses include various cancers and related complications. Candidates must have experience within the last 3 years, including at least 1 year of current specialty experience. All candidates should be aware of urgent compliance processes and requirements.
