Sales & Business Development Manager - Home Goods

Sigra is a global sourcing, product development and trading company working with major retailers and brands across a range of consumer product categories. Our U.S. office focuses on sales, customer relationships, product development and new business, working closely with our international sourcing and production teams throughout Asia. We are looking for a motivated and commercially minded Sales & Business Development Manager to join our New York office and work directly alongside our Head of Sales. The primary focus of the role will be growing our home goods business , particularly hardlines and general merchandise categories. What You’ll Do Work closely with the Head of Sales to manage and grow existing retail and brand accounts. Develop new customers and identify new sales opportunities. Research product and market trends across home goods and general merchandise. Identify new product categories and opportunities to present to customers. Help prepare product presentations, line sheets, quotations and customer proposals. Follow up with buyers on ongoing developments, samples, pricing and new opportunities. Coordinate with Sigra's overseas sourcing and production teams to develop products based on customer requirements. Work with factories and sourcing teams to obtain pricing, product information, samples and development options. Review customer requests and help translate them into commercially viable products. Track developments from initial customer inquiry through sampling, costing and order placement. Attend customer meetings, presentations and trade shows when required. Help build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, sourcing teams and other customer contacts. Product Categories The position will work across a broad range of home and general merchandise categories, which may include: Kitchen and tabletop Storage and organization Bathroom accessories Home accessories and décor Household products Seasonal products Travel and lifestyle accessories Personal care accessories Plastic, metal, glass, silicone and other manufactured consumer products Other hardline and general merchandise categories The role is not limited to a fixed product category . We are looking for someone who enjoys finding new products and identifying opportunities based on what customers are looking for. What We’re Looking For Experience in sales, merchandising, product development, sourcing or account management within consumer products. Experience working with retailers, importers, wholesalers or brands is strongly preferred. Knowledge of home goods, hardlines or general merchandise is an advantage. Commercial mindset with a strong understanding of pricing and margins. Comfortable communicating directly with buyers and customers. Strong follow-up and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple product developments and opportunities simultaneously. Good presentation and communication skills. Comfortable working with international factories and sourcing teams. Entrepreneurial attitude and willingness to work across different product categories. The Opportunity This is an entrepreneurial role rather than a narrowly defined corporate sales position. You will work directly with senior management and our international sourcing teams, with the opportunity to help develop new products, open new accounts and build entire product categories within Sigra's U.S. business.
