Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care to children from infancy through young adulthood, employing specialized knowledge in pediatric primary healthcare.
• Conduct thorough assessments including physical exams, developmental evaluations, and health risk assessments, addressing both physical and psychological needs.
• Administer therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, injections, sutures, and wound care, in addition to managing infections effectively.
• Develop and implement personalized patient management plans that encompass health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management, documenting all care activities diligently in medical records.
• Instruct patients and their families about health maintenance, therapeutic regimens, growth and development milestones, and address any emotional or social concerns related to daily living.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals through regular meetings to review patient charts, discuss care coordination, and perform quality assurance tasks.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives and utilize evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes in the pediatric population.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Vista Medical Center, you will cater primarily to children from birth to young adulthood, addressing diverse healthcare needs. Your role will involve managing common acute illnesses, chronic health conditions, and well-child visits. You will also be focused on providing preventive education and counseling to families, supporting children’s emotional and social development alongside their physical health.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing with specialization as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in the state of Maryland.
• Certification from recognized entities such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board, or equivalent.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications from the American Heart Association.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and quality patient care.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of direct pediatric healthcare experience, demonstrating competency in managing pediatric health issues.
• Experience in a school-based or community health setting is preferred but not mandatory.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with children and families effectively, fostering trust and a positive care environment.

Compensation and Benefits
