Work Environment

This full-time position is based onsite within a school environment in Hyattsville, which allows for a close connection with children in their learning settings. Working Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, you will enjoy a structured, supportive work schedule that promotes a healthy work-life balance. Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to children from birth to young adulthood, including routine health assessments, vaccinations, and management of acute and chronic pediatric conditions.
• Perform essential therapeutic procedures, including administering injections and immunizations, performing suture removal and wound care, and managing minor infections.
• Develop and implement individualized patient management plans, ensuring accurate documentation through progress notes and coordinated follow-up care.
• Engage in thorough medical chart review to ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols and optimal patient outcomes.
• Instruct and counsel patients and families on best practices for health maintenance, growth and development milestones, and relevant psychological concerns.
• Maintain organized and complete medical records for all patients, coordinating regularly with supervising physicians to review patient care efforts and charting accuracy.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction in alignment with the healthcare center’s standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on children from birth through young adulthood, encompassing the diverse physical, emotional, and social needs that come with various developmental stages. You will be addressing common pediatric concerns through a preventative lens while managing acute illnesses and chronic health issues, ensuring that each child’s unique needs are met with compassion and expertise.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, alongside an advanced degree in nursing (Master's or Doctorate).
• Active licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland.
• 2 to 4 years of relevant clinical experience in pediatric nursing.
• Current certification from recognized boards such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Pediatric Nursing Certification Board, or others as applicable to pediatric care.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) if pursuing hospital privileges.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while maintaining professional interpersonal relationships.

Preferred Experience

• An established track record of working effectively within a pediatric practice, demonstrating both clinical proficiency and compassion in challenging situations.
• Experience in educational healthcare environments, particularly in school settings, is advantageous but not required.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to streamline documentation and patient care workflow.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 126,000 to 150,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a robust benefits package that includes:
