Work Environment

This position is onsite in our Greenbelt facility, where you will become an integral part of our healthcare team. The work schedule is from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, which include obtaining health histories, performing physical examinations, and interpreting diagnostic tests.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health conditions, formulating appropriate treatment plans in collaboration with our team of physicians.
• Provide consultation services and follow-up care tailored to each patient's individual needs, emphasizing the importance of health promotion and disease prevention.
• Educate patients and their families about health management, preventative practices, and the responsible use of medications and treatments.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and clinic policies.
• Actively participate in clinic meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Nurse Practitioner at Amory Medical Clinic, you will predominantly work with adult patients dealing with a range of internal medicine issues, including chronic illness management and acute healthcare needs. Our patient population reflects the diverse community of Greenbelt, presenting unique health challenges that require personalized care approaches.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution is mandatory.
• A valid Nurse Practitioner license issued by the State of Maryland is required, along with national certification in Family Nursing Practice (FNP) from an authorized certifying body.
• New graduates are welcome to apply; however, candidates with at least 2 years of clinical experience in internal medicine or a related field will be prioritized.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and a solid understanding of clinical guidelines and modern medical practices are advantageous.

Preferred Experience

• Two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a primary care or internal medicine setting is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Proficient in conducting patient assessments and developing detailed treatment plans.
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with patients and their families.

Compensation and Benefits
