Work Environment

This position is based onsite within a school setting, providing a unique opportunity to connect with students and their families. Our clinic operates in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment where healthcare professionals work closely with academic staff and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care. The work schedule for this role is Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a balanced professional and personal life.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations and develop treatment plans for various health conditions, ensuring that each patient receives personalized care.
• Administer both preventative and acute medical care, utilizing evidence-based practices and adhering to clinical guidelines.
• Collaboratively engage with a team of healthcare providers to enhance patient care pathways, ensuring smooth referrals and consultations.
• Perform routine physical examinations, manage chronic conditions, and address acute health issues with precision.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans, preventive health measures, and healthy lifestyle choices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clinic serves a diverse population of patients primarily composed of school-aged children and their families. As a Nurse Practitioner focusing on Internal Medicine, you will encounter a range of health issues—including chronic illnesses, preventive care needs, and acute conditions—that require your expertise and compassionate approach. Your role is critical in promoting health education and empowering patients to take charge of their health.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Current licensure or eligibility to practice as a Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) in the state of Maryland.
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) from an accredited certifying body.
• Please note, we are specifically seeking candidates who are Family Nurse Practitioners; those with Acute Care certifications are not eligible for this position.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with previous experience in pediatric or internal medicine settings will be prioritized. Familiarity with managing school-aged children's health issues and an understanding of the unique challenges faced in a school-based healthcare setting will be beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits
