Work Environment

The Nurse Practitioner will work onsite at a local school in Hyattsville, Maryland, effectively integrating within the educational framework. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening clinics until 8:00 p.m. Participation in weekend community health events may also be required. This role typically encompasses an average of 40 hours per week, allowing for a great work-life balance while making a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities

As a Nurse Practitioner in our Cardiology office, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive health assessments and screenings for students and their families, identifying cardiovascular risks and health concerns.
• Diagnosing and managing both acute and chronic medical conditions, focusing primarily on cardiology, while promoting preventive care and health education.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, such as EKGs and blood tests, to inform treatment plans.
• Collaborating with community organizations, healthcare providers, and educators to develop and implement tailored health education programs that promote cardiovascular health.
• Providing culturally sensitive care and advocacy for patients' rights, ensuring equitable access to healthcare services.
• Coordinating referrals to specialists and follow-up care, ensuring continuity of service for ongoing treatment.
• Maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations, using electronic health record (EHR) systems to document care delivery and patient interactions.
• Participating in community outreach events and health fairs, providing screenings and education to raise awareness about heart health.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily focuses on the pediatric population within the school setting, addressing cardiovascular health concerns among children and adolescents. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner with active state nursing licensure in Maryland.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; a Master’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in a nurse practitioner role, ideally within community health or public health settings.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 110,000 to 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
