Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial assessments through telehealth interfaces to understand clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health needs.

• Document client cases meticulously from the first consultation through the entire treatment process, maintaining clear and accurate records.

• Develop customized intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, based on a thorough understanding of their unique situations.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing effective therapeutic techniques and evidence-based practices.

• Monitor clients' progress continually, adjusting intervention strategies as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, medical doctors, and social workers, to create comprehensive care plans for clients.

• Assist in identifying behaviors that may hinder recovery and work with clients to develop effective coping strategies.

• Support family members and primary caregivers in managing challenges associated with clients' mental health conditions.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your clients will include adults, adolescents, and families seeking support for a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or equivalent in the state of New York.
\n
• The passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage effectively with clients and collaborate with healthcare professionals.

• Strong ability to foster rapport and establish trust with diverse client populations.

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated experience working as a mental health counselor in both individual and group settings.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, to track client progress and manage documentation.

• Familiarity with best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Knowledge of the effects of medications prescribed in conjunction with therapy, enabling informed discussions with clients about their treatment options.

• Experience addressing underlying physical health issues and addiction disorders critical to comprehensive mental health care.
