Key Responsibilities\n

• Provide high-quality counseling services to clients, including conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and engaging in individual therapy sessions.

• Lead optional support groups, providing valuable community engagement and peer support.
\n
• Collaborate with our Content Manager to generate “Expert Insights,” providing valuable resources to our members.

• Manage your schedule with flexibility, allowing you to determine your workload based on personal capacity and client needs.

• Ensure thorough documentation of client sessions in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
\n
• Receive and handle client referrals, focusing on providing supportive and effective care.
\n
• Participate in continuing education and professional development initiatives, with the cost covered by the organization.
\n
• Engage with our Clinical Operations Team to ensure the delivery of effective treatment strategies and patient care.
\n
• Review and implement harm-reduction strategies tailored to individual client goals, whether they embrace moderation or seek abstinence.

• Stay updated on community recovery support options to effectively guide clients toward additional resources such as AA, Smart Recovery, and Moderation Management.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Valley Healing Counseling Services, you will primarily engage with individuals seeking assistance in their relationship with alcohol. Our clients span diverse backgrounds and are at various stages of their recovery journey. Your role will be instrumental in providing compassionate support and facilitating access to resources that encourage healing and self-improvement.

Qualifications\n

• A valid license as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMFT, or LMHC in the state of New York is required.

• A minimum of three years’ experience in providing mental health counseling, preferably within a community health setting.

• Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing.

• Strong clinical engagement skills, demonstrating empathy and understanding toward clients’ unique situations and challenges.

• An understanding of harm-reduction techniques, providing clients with options beyond traditional abstinence-based models.

This full-time position offers a competitive annual salary between $80,000 and $100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
