Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in clients' homes or at our outpatient center, focusing on tailored interventions that address the unique needs of each child and family.

• Facilitate group therapy sessions to enhance social skills, anger management, and coping strategies among youth, effectively reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior and physical aggression.

• Support caregivers in developing effective decision-making skills to better manage in-home behavioral challenges, thus creating a nurturing environment for their children.

• Engage in regular communication and collaboration with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals involved in the child’s care, ensuring a holistic approach to treatment.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, to track client progress and uphold clinical standards.

• Participate in monthly team meetings to review cases, share recommendations, and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives within the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be helping children aged 3 to 20 with developmental and intellectual disabilities, as well as their families. By understanding their unique challenges and milestones, you will be directly influencing their capacity to cope with everyday life and thrive in their environments. Your commitment to serving this diverse population ensures they receive the care and understanding needed to succeed.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related mental health field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license to practice in the state of Colorado is essential.

• Availability for at least 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM) is a must, with weekend flexibility being a significant advantage.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience providing positive behavior support and therapeutic services for children with intellectual/developmental disabilities is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with evidence-based practices and methodologies in youth therapy will be beneficial.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are necessary for traveling to client locations.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required prior to hiring.

Compensation and Benefits\n
