Lead Software Engineer - AWS Terraform IaC

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 5+ years of applied experience.
• We need hands-on experience with AWS services including ECS, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, and KMS.
• We need demonstrated experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, test acceleration, and troubleshooting, with the ability to set expectations for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• We need strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security standards, along with experience coaching engineers on safe and compliant adoption.
• We require proficiency in Terraform, including modules, state management, and workspaces.
• We need advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code best practices, along with strong IaC and CI/CD patterns.
• We need practical knowledge of networking fundamentals, including load balancers, DNS, firewalls, and VPNs.
• We require experience with Jenkins, including pipelines, Groovy, and shared libraries.
• We need experience with Spinnaker, including pipelines, deployment strategies, canary releases, and blue-green deployments.
• We require familiarity with GitOps workflows.
• We need experience with containers and orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.
• We need experience with artifact management tools such as Nexus, ECR, and JFrog.
• We require experience in reliability, observability, security, compliance, and scripting/automation using Python, Bash, Go, JSON, and RESTful APIs.
• Preferred: performance engineering fundamentals.
• Preferred: cost optimization experience with a FinOps mindset.

• We design, build, and run scalable cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on reliability, security, and operability.
• We develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code patterns, including reusable modules, consistent standards, and safe deployments.
• We improve CI/CD and deployment automation across services and environments.
• We drive adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while promoting validation standards and reusable patterns.
• We apply knowledge of SDLC toolchain capabilities, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation, to increase the value delivered through automation.
• We own and improve observability across monitoring, alerting, logging, dashboards, and actionable runbooks.
• We participate in on-call rotations and incident response, and we lead high-quality postmortems with follow-through.
• We partner closely with developers to improve system design, performance, and operational maturity.
• We strengthen engineering quality through pull request reviews, shared standards, and knowledge sharing.
