AWS Lead Software Engineer

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We have formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
• We have hands-on experience with AWS, particularly in data management services such as Glue, EMR, Athena, Redshift, and Lake Formation.
• We are proficient in Python, Java, and database query languages for application development, debugging, and maintenance in a large corporate setting.
• We have demonstrated experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, including setting expectations for validating AI outputs for accuracy, performance, and security.
• We understand responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security standards; we have experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
• We have a solid understanding of the software development life cycle.
• Preferred: we have hands-on Terraform or other IaaS experience.
• Preferred: we hold an AWS certification at Solutions Architect Associate or Developer level.
• Preferred: we have other advanced-level programming language certification.
• Preferred: we have experience working with PCI and sensitive data workloads.

• We design and implement secure data lake solutions within the AWS environment.
• We develop IaaS infrastructure using Terraform configuration scripts, Python scripts, or Java to create AWS cloud services and resources.
• We explore and evaluate new data management capabilities offered by AWS.
• We drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational results.
• We apply knowledge of SDLC toolchain capabilities, including AI-assisted development and automation, to maximize the value of automation.
• We proactively identify hidden issues and patterns in data and use these insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
• We gather, analyze, synthesize, and build visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets to support continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
• We collaborate with other teams to deliver software solutions, design and development work, and technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond routine approaches to solve complex problems.
• We contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore emerging technologies.
