Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Examining and evaluating patients with functional limitations and disabilities and developing comprehensive treatment plans that adhere to clinical guidelines.
• Administering manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and modalities to alleviate pain and restore movement.
• Providing ongoing education to patients and their families about therapeutic practices, exercise regimens, and home care strategies.
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation for all patient interactions, including evaluations, treatment plans, and progress reports.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary treatment teams, referral sources, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
• Supervising and mentoring supporting staff, including physical therapy assistants and aides, to promote professional growth and improve departmental workflows.
• Participating in community outreach initiatives aimed at promoting health and wellness among local residents.
• Regularly attending staff meetings and engaging in professional development activities, including in-service training and continuing education opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working primarily with a diverse adult population experiencing various orthopedic conditions, including post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries, and chronic pain disorders. Your role involves adapting treatment strategies based on individual patient needs, facilitating recovery and health improvement while considering each patient's unique background and circumstances.

Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates must possess:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A current State License in Physical Therapy and maintain good standing with regulatory boards.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills along with proficiency in electronic documentation systems.
• Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following experiences are preferred:

• Clinical experience in orthopedic rehabilitation, particularly in settings focused on outpatient therapy.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices and innovative treatment modalities.
• Experience working in a collaborative healthcare environment styled around patient-centered care.
