Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews, ensuring accurate documentation from the initial consultation through to the conclusion of treatment.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health to identify their needs and create tailored intervention strategies.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that consider the unique circumstances and goals of individuals, couples, families, and groups.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing effective therapeutic techniques to foster client growth and recovery.

• Continuously monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including mental health specialists, medical professionals, and social services to integrate care.

• Maintain regular follow-ups with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers for clients requiring hospitalization or additional medical attention.

• Proactively identify behaviors and risks that may hinder client recovery, employing preventive measures to support client well-being.

• Support family members and primary caregivers in understanding mental health challenges, equipping them with strategies to assist their loved ones effectively.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrated experience in a mental health counselor role, showcasing proficiency in clinical practice.

• Familiarity with electronic health record platforms such as AVATAR, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and empathetically.
