Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a contracted occupational therapist supporting learners from kindergarten through age 26. This opportunity, located near Sterling Heights, MI, is ideal for professionals seeking a full-time, onsite role in a dynamic and supportive school environment. The assignment runs from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, with a steady schedule of 35 hours per week.
Skills & Experience Sought:
- Current, valid Michigan Occupational Therapist license (must provide screenshot upon application)
- Verified school-based occupational therapy experience
- Comfort and enthusiasm for working with a diverse caseload, including students up to age 26
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
- Ability to deliver direct therapy and provide consultative support within an educational setting
- Organizational skills to manage documentation and individualized education plan (IEP) requirements
- COTAs need not apply; this position is for OTs only
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services onsite, utilizing evidence-based techniques tailored to each student’s needs
- Complete assessments and contribute to IEPs and team meetings
- Develop, implement, and monitor intervention plans, goal progress, and accommodations
- Collaborate closely with educators, service providers, and families to maximize student outcomes
- Maintain thorough documentation and reporting in compliance with school policies and state guidelines
