Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend required. Float required as needed. Contract lengths available from 13-26 weeks.

Highlights:

• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 providing quality care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Electronic charting with Epic EMR and Pyxis medication management systems
• Comprehensive 24-hour orientation program with first-week hospital orientation and daily classes
• Experience with diverse skill set including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insulin and heparin protocols, wound care, and blood product administration
• Multi-level care environment with isolation area for COVID patients and stepdown capabilities
• Robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of registered nurse experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:6 preferred
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Proficiency in MS/Telemetry skills including EKG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, heparin and insulin drip titration, PCA management, and non-invasive airway management
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• First-time travelers accepted

Additional Information:

• Navy scrubs provided
• Contract staff may be assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
• Must be available for daily orientation classes during first week
• Up to 7 days of pre-approved time off allowed (excluding holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Pre-start online modules (approximately 8-10 hours) required and must be completed using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
