Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN – North Carolina

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), 36 or 48-hour contracts available, every other weekend required, float as needed, no call required

Highlights:

• Inpatient surgical and medical-surgical combination unit with diverse patient diagnoses including post-operative care, trauma, and acute surgical conditions
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 for surgical and medical inpatient populations
• Epic electronic medical record system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Contract lengths of 13–26 weeks accepted with 24 hours of floor training following orientation
• Experience with specialized equipment including wound vacs, chest tubes, NG tubes, and various surgical drains
• Wide range of surgical procedures from cholecystectomy and appendectomy to complex trauma care and amputations

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical or telemetry nursing experience (first-time travelers considered if experienced)
• Must be comfortable managing 1:6 patient ratios
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with blood product administration, central line care, chest tubes, wound care/wound vacs, and PCA pumps
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions available)
• Ability to work during catastrophic events as part of Storm Team/Hurricane Team protocols
