Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: November 16, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM; 36 or 48 hours per week; every other weekend required; floating as needed

Highlights:

• 13–26 week contract assignments available with 36 or 48-hour weekly options
• Patient ratio of 1:5–6 on a progressive care unit serving adult and geriatric populations
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
• 24-hour orientation program with structured hospital onboarding during week one
• Opportunity to provide care for diverse medical-surgical patients with telemetry monitoring, including isolation precautions and stepdown-level acuity

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in medical-surgical or telemetry nursing
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Proficiency in blood product administration, heparin and insulin protocols, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, wound care, PCA, peripheral line management, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Additional Information:

• Contract staff may be assigned to Storm Team/Hurricane Team and required to report during catastrophic events or disasters
• Floating within the facility may be required based on patient care needs
• Time off requests limited to 7 days maximum (no holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• No additional time off requests permitted after contract acceptance
• Daily hospital orientation classes required during first week; must be available for scheduled training
• Navy scrubs required
• Pre-start online modules (approximately 8-10 hours) must be completed using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
