Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). For more information on Health Benefits offered, visit**** employment information.** **Note: Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time-limited position to work in a temporary position. All temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.****Individuals hired into a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job. OSHR supports the Governor's Job Ready initiative and seeks to expand a temporary skill set to enhance their qualifications for State government and private sector jobs. Exposure to an agency's culture, process, procedures, and potential learning opportunities can provide valuable experience to those who may seek permanent employment with the state.** **This temporary position is located at \_1915 Health Services Way, Raleigh, NC 27607\_ - Wake County, with the Department of Health and Human Services.****The admin will receive DHHS training, enabling them to provide special assistance to the team through monitoring current service contracts with vendors and taking the lead on new requisitions when required by the Comms leadership team.** **When needed, the employee will consult with other DHHS departments (Contracts and Procurement, Budget and Analysis, and General Counsel) for additional support and clarification. This position may also provide occasional lunchtime and backup support at the front reception desk at DHHS Headquarters Building (HQ).****Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $21.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).** **Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed in the class specification. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.****Management Preferences:*** **Background in contracts, purchasing, and/or procurement.*** **Attention to details such as renewal dates, expirations, and billing changes.*** **Answering phones, greeting employees and guests, and assisting the parking liaisons with occasional concerns.*** **Strong customer service skills.*** **Proficiency in using Microsoft Office tools, including Teams, Webex, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, Word, and SharePoint. Assist multiple professionals with administrative and clerical support and effectively manage their scheduling needs and meeting activities.*** **Ability to support meetings, including managing setup operations and note-taking.*** **Strong organizational skills and the ability to be flexible and detail-oriented.*** **Ability to present ideas clearly and effectively in written form*** **Ability to adjust language or terminology to meet the needs of the audience*** **Ability to use correct grammar, organization, and structure.****Minimum Education and Experience**Some state job postings say you can qualify by an “equivalent combination of education and experience.” If that language appears below, then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience, OR a combination of both.
