Administrative Specialist II (S)
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, and has approximately 17,000 employees. It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.
This position supports the Nursing Department through consultation and program/project administration in a specialized or target program area of assignment. The work included associated administrative and/or business functions. The work involves developing and maintaining productive/collaborative work relationships. Work involves coordination of technical work processing functions within the department. The position will involve interdepartmental collaboration with Nursing Leadership, Facility Human Resources, and other Nursing Administrative Specialists.
Salary Range: $41,206.00 - $72,113.00

- Considerable knowledge of office practices and business administration
- Basic knowledge in the coordination of nursing practices, nursing terminology and workflow processes
- Thorough skills in maintaining and using electronic (business) equipment (i.e. computers, printers, FAX, copiers and scanners)
- Considerable skills in modifying processes using computer applications, software technology, web-based data systems and programs
- Ability to manage unit operating schedules through setting of priorities
Conditional Requirements
- ADA physical requirements will be discussed during the interview including but not limited to lifting, kneeling, walking up and down stairs, and ability to lift 50 pounds
This is a full-time position and is eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement. The normal working hours between 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. However, flexibility is required to meet training and educational requirements.

About Central Regional Hospital (CRH): CRH is a State-of-the Art psychiatric hospital located in Butner, NC. Our location is ideal with four seasons, mild temperatures and provides an easy commute to the N.C. mountains or beaches. Butner possesses small town charm but is within 30 minutes of a major metropolitan area including Research Triangle Park, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and Durham, NC.
