TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Omaha, Nebraska, 68124!

Job Title: Registered Nurse - MedSurg/Telemetry Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: MedSurg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS Must-Have: Strong candidates may be considered without prior travel experience Description: RN's must pass an open book exam on skills learned during orientation. A score of 90% is required to pass. Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care. Refusal to remove nails will result in termination of contract. A driver's license is required for applicants. RN's work with a range of MedSurg/Tele patients including strokes and post-neurosurgery procedures. The unit has a focus on hourly rounding and responsiveness. There are 25 beds on the unit. The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5-6. Common diagnoses include joint replacements, fractures, and COPD exacerbations. RN's are required to titrate certain drips such as heparin and lidocaine. Charge nurses are present on each shift and take an assignment. Patient care technicians are available on this unit with a ratio of 1:10-20. Tele/Monitor techs will interpret strips; RN's should have some awareness. Shifts include 0630-1900 and 1830-0700. Travelers will be scheduled, and some block scheduling may be approved. Weekend requirements include working at least every other weekend. Holiday requirements are 2-3 holidays from Thanksgiving to New Year's. Floating to other medical surgical areas may be required. RN's are expected to have good attendance, be team players, and provide compassionate care. This unit serves a diverse patient population. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. The charting system used is EPIC.
