About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 or 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in a large, urban hospital License: Active state RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI preferred, NIH preferred Must-Have: - Epic charting experience - Ability to float to various units as needed - Experience with drips and telemetry monitoring Description: This is a 36-bed unit providing medical-surgical and telemetry care. The unit primarily serves adult pre and post organ transplant patients. Adolescent patients aged 15 and up are permitted but cared for by core staff only. Patient ratios are 1:5 during the day shift and 1:6 at night, with rare occasions of 1:7 at night. Travelers will be required to float frequently to meet staffing needs. There is a weekend commitment of 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period. Travelers must work 2 of 3 major holidays as part of the requirements. RNs wear designated scrubs, and information on how to obtain them will be provided upon confirmation. The facility is a 718 acute-care bed institution known for high-quality patient care and advanced research. The team includes various interdisciplinary support personnel such as Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services. Common patient diagnoses include organ transplant patients and internal medicine cases. Required skills include basic and advanced critical care skills, telemetry, and managing complex patient needs.
