Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 or 26 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a large, urban hospital required License: RN License required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Epic charting experience required - Experience with drips required - Must float within the scope to meet facility needs Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse to provide care in a fast-paced medical/surgical unit. The unit focuses on the acute and chronic needs of patients who are hemodynamically and medically stable. The nurse will be responsible for caring for patients admitted from the emergency department, ICU, or surgical services. Ratios are generally 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night. On rare occasions, night ratios may be 1:7 depending on staffing needs. Travelers are expected to float frequently to meet the overall staffing needs. Four weekend shifts out of eight possible will be required in a four-week period, including days and nights. Holiday requirements include working two out of three major holidays. This facility is a 100% nicotine-free environment. Candidates should expect to wear mandatory specified scrubs during their shifts. Additional support includes care teams that encompass CNAs, care techs, units, and paramedics. RNs will be equipped with the necessary resources for managing complex patient needs. Patients may require various types of care including telemetry monitoring, wound care, and managing IVs and drips.
