Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Motion Menders Therapy, you will be responsible for:

• Directing physical therapy treatments aimed at preventing disabilities, relieving pain, and restoring muscle function in accordance with individualized treatment plans.
• Overseeing the work of Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring that care plans are executed correctly and effectively.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of clients' functional abilities through diagnostic tests, to inform tailored intervention plans.
• Assessing environmental factors at patients' homes to provide recommendations for modifications that promote independence.
• Administering therapeutic exercises and using manual techniques such as massage and traction as part of the patient's treatment regimen.
• Instructing and guiding patients through exercises and functional tasks, motivating them toward active participation in their rehabilitation process.
• Fitting and adjusting prosthetic and orthotic devices, collaborating with physicians for necessary modifications.
• Documenting clinical records, including initial evaluations and progress notes, to keep comprehensive and up-to-date patient files.
• Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing to the development and review of comprehensive care plans.
• Communicating effectively with patients and their families to educate them about treatment plans and physical therapy devices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse patient population, ranging from post-operative individuals to those managing chronic conditions, requiring customized therapy programs. Your role will involve building meaningful relationships with patients and families, allowing you to effectively address their concerns and empower them throughout their recovery journey.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in outpatient therapy.
• Current and valid Physical Therapy licensure in the state of Virginia.
• Current CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance are required.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a collaborative environment and connect meaningfully with patients.

Preferred Experience

While the minimum requirement is 2 years of direct experience, candidates with additional certifications in specialized therapy techniques or those experienced in multidisciplinary settings will be given preference. Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is competitive, ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
