Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to identify the severity and duration of mood disorder symptoms. This includes using standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews.

• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, ensuring that plans are tailored to their unique goals, preferences, and needs.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to assist clients in managing their mood disorders.

• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care strategies, promoting greater understanding and empowerment in the recovery process.

• Monitor and document client progress, making adjustments to treatment plans when necessary to enhance therapeutic outcomes.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other medical staff to ensure holistic and integrated care for clients, attending regular multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss treatment strategies.

• Stay informed on recent trends and research in mental health treatment, continuously enhancing your skills and knowledge base to provide the best care possible.

• Maintain accurate, confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring adherence to best practices in clinical documentation.

• Engage in case consultations and participate in ongoing professional development activities, including workshops and seminars focused on mood disorders.

• Advocate for clients, working to de-stigmatize mental health issues and secure the necessary resources and support for their treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Liberty Psychological Recovery Center, you will primarily work with clients experiencing mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related disorders. You will be responsible for providing compassionate care tailored to the specific challenges faced by individuals from a wide array of backgrounds, helping them navigate their mental health journeys.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.

• Valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.
\n
• Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities specifically for mood disorders, including CBT and DBT.

• Strong foundational knowledge of psychopharmacology to facilitate effective cooperation with prescribing psychiatrists.

• A proven track record of successfully treating mood disorders, evidenced by client outcomes and testimonials.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
