Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Baylor Physical Therapy, you will:

• Direct therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability and enhancing function as per individual patient needs.
• Oversee the implementation of care plans by Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring adherence to prescribed protocols.
• Evaluate patients' functional abilities through comprehensive assessments, utilizing diagnostic tests for muscle, nerve, joint, and overall functional performance.
• Assess the home environment for rehabilitation opportunities and make recommendations to improve patient independence.
• Provide prescribed physical therapy services, including administering manual therapeutic exercises, instructing clients in non-manual activities, and delivering treatments that utilize various physical modalities.
• Evaluate and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices where necessary, providing recommendations to physicians as needed.
• Assist in the development and continuous review of individual care plans, keeping detailed clinical records including progress notes, evaluations, and discharge summaries.
• Engage in interdisciplinary team discussions, contributing to case conferences to align on treatment strategies and patient care goals.
• Educate patients and families on the utilization and care of therapy devices, ensuring they are well-informed about the therapy process.
• Manage documentation, clinical orders, and billing requirements in a timely fashion, adhering to branch policies and state laws.
• Conduct on-site functional assessments as needed to tailor care plans specific to client needs and community resource utilization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with patients in a home care setting, which includes individuals recovering from surgery, managing chronic illnesses, or living with disabilities. This role requires a compassionate approach, ensuring that each patient's treatment journey is optimized for both their physical rehabilitation and emotional well-being.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess:

• A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• A valid physical therapy license in the State of Florida.
• Current CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance for travel between patient locations.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of experience in physical therapy is required, candidates with experience in acute care or home care settings are strongly preferred. Compensation and Benefits
