About the Position

Job Title: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience License: Valid compact or state license required Certifications: - BCLS - ACLS - NIHSS - AHA Certifications Must-Have: - EPIC experience required - Proficient in IV start - Experience with telemetry - Competency with ventilators Description: The MICU Registered Nurse will provide care to critically ill patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. The schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts rotating between days and nights every four weeks. Patient ratios are estimated at 1:1 to 1:2 during both day and night shifts. Experience in managing patients with multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and other complex conditions is required. Nurses should be skilled in the care of patients on ventilators and the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Proficiency in the EPIC documentation system is essential. Previous travel nursing experience is preferred but not mandatory. This role involves interdisciplinary support from various teams, including respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Candidates must comply with fingerprinting requirements as part of the onboarding process.
