EVP, Chief Growth Officer - Confidential Bank-Owned Mortgage Division

Garrett, McAuley & Co. is conducting a confidential executive search on behalf of a bank-owned mortgage division seeking an EVP-level leader to run its national retail production organization. This is a planned leadership transition with a multi-month overlap period, not a vacancy created by turnover.

The division operates with the entrepreneurial culture and speed of an independent mortgage banker, backed by the balance sheet, product breadth, and stability of a well-capitalized bank. The platform offers a full product suite including government, conventional, construction-to-permanent, renovation, home equity, and portfolio lending, along with servicing capabilities.

THE ROLE

You will lead the company's national retail mortgage growth strategy, with full responsibility for:

- Production growth, profitability, and market expansion across a multi-state retail platform

- Recruiting and retaining mortgage originators, branch managers, and regional leadership

- Strategic branch expansion and new market entry

- Leadership development and building a high-performance sales culture

- Partnership with executive leadership, operations, capital markets, and compliance

The company's goal is to double its current retail production volume. This role carries real authority and a genuine path to broader executive leadership of the mortgage operation.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Proven track record building and scaling retail mortgage production teams

- Experience recruiting originators and leadership talent in competitive markets

- Strong understanding of mortgage banking economics, secondary markets, and compliance

- 10+ years of progressive mortgage banking leadership

- Entrepreneurial mindset: you see opportunity in this market, not just obstacles

- Mortgage origination background preferred

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Total compensation is highly competitive and built to reward growth, consisting of base salary, production overrides, and a profitability component. The company also offers bank-level benefits including Blue Cross Blue Shield health coverage, disability, long-term care, and a pension plan.

Remote, with travel as needed. The company does not require relocation.
