Temporary Faculty Pool – Lecturer in Real Estate The Department of Finance, Real Estate and Business Law offers the Real Estate track within the Business Administration degree program. The department maintains an award‑winning Student‑Managed Investment Funds Program, currently managing a $6.5 million endowment fund. Position Summary The department seeks qualified candidates to teach undergraduate courses such as: FIN 180Real Estate Principles FIN 181Real Estate Appraisals FIN 182Real Estate Practices FIN 185Housing Market Analysis Other classes as needed to fulfill educational goals of current students As an AACSB‑accredited institution, the Craig School of Business (CSB) expects faculty members to hold qualifications consistent with one of the following categories: SA (Scholarly Academic), PA (Practice Academics), SP (Scholarly Practitioners), or IP (Instructional Practitioners). Responsibilities Temporary faculty members are responsible for adherence to and implementation of university and system‑wide policies as directed per Academic Policy Manual306, paragraph2. They must prepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, midterm and final exams. All classes must be offered, meet, and be delivered in the assigned mode (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid) throughout the semester. Conditional Appointment Appointment is contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and is subject to the order of assignment provisions in the collective bargaining agreement between California State University and California Faculty Association. The “Order of Work” requires that courses be assigned first to tenure‑track faculty, then to new lecturer appointees. Eligibility Appointees will be required to demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States. California State University, Fresno does not sponsor Temporary Faculty for work visas. Compensation Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience within the salary range placement. The salary ranges are established by the CSU Salary Schedule (Class Code=**** for Academic Year Lecturers). The salary range for Temporary Faculty with a Master’s degree is $5,*****,677 per month when teaching full time (15 WTUs). Starting salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range. The monthly salary will be adjusted based on the number of WTUs assigned per academic term. Semester Schedule The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions are filled as needed based on student enrollment and funding. The number of positions varies from semester to semester. Appointments may be made just prior to the start of the term, and applicants may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice. The pool remains in place for two academic terms; candidates wishing to remain beyond that must reapply. Fall****: August 19,****– December 22,**** Spring****: January15,****– May26,**** Required Qualifications Education: A Master’s degree in Business Administration or a closely related field from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent. Experience: Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds; at least three years of professional experience in the field, or a doctorate degree within the previous five years, or recent scholarly activity such as peer‑reviewed publications. Preferred Qualifications Commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, demonstrated through prior teaching experience and evaluation.
