Work Environment

This role is designed for on-site service delivery, primarily in patients' homes throughout the Los Angeles area. As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will travel to various patient locations, tailoring your approach to their specific needs. Your work schedule will typically be Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexible scheduling options available to accommodate patient needs and your work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations that include thorough medical histories and physical assessments to accurately diagnose orthopedic conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's goals and needs, ensuring evidence-based practices guide your methodology.
• Implement hands-on therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy, joint mobilization, and tailored exercise prescriptions, to help patients achieve maximum functional recovery.
• Educate patients and their families about best practices in injury prevention, posture correction strategies, and ergonomic techniques, ensuring they are empowered in their recovery process.
• Measure and document patient progress meticulously, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to reflect changing condition or responses to therapy.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare providers to create a holistic treatment approach that addresses the multifaceted needs of our patients.
• Utilize advanced therapy equipment and modalities to enhance recovery, incorporating contemporary techniques that align with best practice guidelines.
• Maintain comprehensive and timely documentation for all patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress reports, adhering to organizational policies and state regulations.
• Stay informed on current research, treatment methods, and best practices pertaining to orthopedic rehabilitation, ensuring continued professional competence.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be working with patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, including post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Our patient population consists of individuals from diverse backgrounds, including seniors seeking to regain mobility and younger active adults aiming to return to sports. Through an individualized approach, you will adapt therapy sessions to cater to their unique situations and goals.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution.
• A valid California Physical Therapy License or the eligibility to obtain one.
• Demonstrated expertise in orthopedic physical therapy and manual therapy techniques.
• Strong ability to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment initiatives for a diverse range of musculoskeletal conditions.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively educate and motivate your patients.
• Capability to function both independently and as a critical member of a healthcare team.
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems for patient scheduling, documentation, and progress tracking.

Preferred Experience

• Board Certification in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS) is highly desirable.
• A minimum of two years of hands-on experience working in outpatient orthopedic settings or within sports rehabilitation environments.
• Background in implementing specific rehabilitation techniques and modalities tailored to individual patient needs.
