Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 - 19:15 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2+ years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Candidates must have ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. Neuro and Trauma Care experience is required. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit. The unit consists of 44 beds and is staffed by 95 personnel. The typical patient ratio is 4 patients per nurse, stretching to 5 patients when necessary. Essential equipment includes IV pumps, PCA pumps, chest tubes, tracheostomy equipment, and patient lifts. Electronic medical records are managed through Cerner. Neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, TLSO brace application, blood transfusions, and feeding tube placements are common procedures performed on this unit. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is patient-focused. This role requires flexibility to float to stepdown units and med-surg units as needed. Every other weekend availability is required.
