Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and preliminary interviews to establish a baseline for each client's mental, emotional, and behavioral health.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based interventions tailored to each client’s unique needs.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions utilizing various therapeutic modalities, encouraging positive engagement and participation from clients.

• Monitor and document client progress throughout the treatment journey, adjusting care plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.

• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including other mental health specialists, psychiatrists, and social workers, to coordinate holistic care.

• Manage referrals and follow-up services for clients transitioning from outpatient care, ensuring continuity and supporting seamless integration into further treatment if required.

• Provide education and support to family members and primary caregivers on managing mental health challenges, enhancing familial understanding and involvement in recovery.

• Stay current with advancements in psychotherapy, participating in continued education and training opportunities to ensure the delivery of cutting-edge mental health services.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Joy of Hope Behavioral Health Center, you will work with a diverse client population that includes individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, addiction, and relationship challenges. Your role will entail not only helping clients manage their immediate concerns but also facilitating long-term growth and stability in their emotional health. The center places a strong focus on community engagement and mental health education, empowering clients and their families through skilled counseling and comprehensive resources.

Qualifications\n

• Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
\n
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Proficient use of electronic health record (EHR) systems, with experience in platforms like AVATAR preferred.
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to build rapport with clients and families.
\n
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to demonstrate empathy and compassion in high-stress situations.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience providing mental health counseling in an outpatient setting.
\n
• Knowledge of managing clients with underlying physical health conditions and substance use disorders.
\n
• Familiarity with the standards and best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Understanding of psychotropic medications and their effects on mental and emotional well-being.

Compensation and Benefits\n
