Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct timely psychosocial assessments that leverage theoretical knowledge of human behavior and psychosocial factors influencing treatment outcomes; identify potential ethical and risk issues.

• Facilitate clinical interventions, providing compassionate counseling to patients and their families. Guide families through challenging decisions including end-of-life care options and advance directives.

• Manage clinical caseload effectively, balancing referrals, high-risk admissions, and ongoing care demands, while collaborating closely with case managers on discharge plans.

• Ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards through comprehensive evaluations and interventions, addressing issues such as suspected abuse, patient rights, and compliance with Tenet Policies.

• Document all interactions and interventions as per policy, ensuring the completion of interdisciplinary care plans, progress notes, and relevant social service reports.
\n
• Provide in-service training to hospital staff on psychosocial aspects of patient care, enhancing overall team competency regarding patient support.
\n
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives by monitoring and analyzing process and outcome indicators that enhance patient care delivery.
\n
• Supervise graduate students and MSW employees in clinical activities as assigned, ensuring standards of care are upheld.
\n
• Participate in social work month activities and contribute to cancer-specific support groups and educational programs tailored for patients, families, staff, and volunteers.

• Other duties may include organizational projects and administrative responsibilities to further enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse range of patients in various stages of detoxification, many of whom may also be facing co-occurring mental health challenges. This role requires a unique sensitivity to the individual’s psychosocial needs, crafting tailored interventions to support recovery pathways. Families are also a critical focus, guiding them through the complexities of navigating their loved one’s treatment process.

Qualifications\n

• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited graduate program.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical setting, with at least 1 year in a cancer-specific environment preferred.

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification by the California Department of Consumer Affairs.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association is required.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written English.

• Proven commitment to excellence in patient care and customer service.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and evaluation skills.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual base salary for this position ranges from USD 120,000 to USD 130,000 , commensurate with experience and qualifications.
