Job Details Title: Operations Assistant Location: Becket, MA 01223 Position Type: Full Time, Seasonal Schedule: June 16, 2026 – August 30, 2026. June–September: 6‑day work week. Time and a half after 48 hours. Salary: $17.00–$20.00 per hour. Reports To: Operations Supervisor Department: Production. Works With: Facilities, Safety & Security; Events; Community Engagement; Marketing & Patron Services. Responsibilities Greet and provide courteous service to all patrons. Direct motorists to parking areas or parking spaces using hand signals or flashlights as necessary. Drive patrons in golf carts to various locations, taking special care to provide a safe and positive trip. Assist with locating vehicles or providing patrons with instructions for locating vehicles. Assist in the set‑up, take‑down, cleaning, and maintenance of tents and dance studios for events and activities. Participate in the activation of Weather Plans for the Henry J. Leir Stage as well as other locations on campus. Assist the Production Department staff in work calls at the Ted Shawn Theatre, Doris Duke Theatre, and Henry J. Lear Stage. Assist the Evening Shift Manager in facilities‑related tasks as needed, including cleaning restrooms and outdoor gathering areas. Required Qualifications Willingness to work with the public. Ability to work independently and on a team. Strong attention to detail. Willingness to be helpful and adjust priorities at a moment’s notice. Ability to work flexible shift hours (days, evenings, weekends, and holidays). Preferred Qualifications Excellent customer service skills. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to convey information effectively. Outgoing and enthusiastic personality. Experience working in the performing arts industry. Basic knowledge of theatrical production. Skills & Qualities Active commitment to continuous learning as well as Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility. Ability to work proactively, kindly, creatively, flexibly, and collaboratively. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Working in wooded areas with exposure to native wildlife including, but not limited to, rodents, ticks, and mosquitoes. Working outdoors in all weather conditions including inclement weather. Working 6‑day work weeks including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends during festival weeks and non‑festival programming. Moving equipment up to 50 lbs alone or with assistance. Moving through and between multiple locations throughout the entire campus. Remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time. Working at heights above 6 feet and up to 30 feet. Ascending and descending straight and step ladders. Operating push‑around or drivable person lifts including at heights. Working in show conditions with theatrical and atmospheric elements including but not limited to: fog, haze, strobes, dim lights, and loud sounds.
