Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive initial evaluations and assessments to document clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health.
\n
• Administer evidence-based interventions and develop personalized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and various client groups.
\n
• Facilitate effective individual and group therapy sessions, employing best practices in psychotherapy.
\n
• Regularly monitor client progress throughout treatment, adjusting plans as necessary based on their evolving needs.

• Build collaborative treatment strategies, working closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care.

• Manage referrals and follow up with medical specialists for clients requiring outpatient or inpatient psychiatric care.

• Identify behaviors and issues that hinder recovery and develop preventative measures to address them.

• Support family members and primary caregivers in managing related behavioral challenges to enhance the client's support system.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor, you will serve a diverse client population, ranging from individuals dealing with anxiety and depression to couples facing relational challenges and families with complex dynamics. Our clients often include those with underlying physical health issues, emotional difficulties, and addiction disorders, necessitating a comprehensive understanding of various therapeutic methodologies and treatment practices.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited university.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in California.
\n
• Apass score obtained in the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Proficient in using electronic health record systems, with AVATAR experience preferred.
\n
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, combined with strong interpersonal abilities and a sympathetic nature.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor in a clinical or community setting.

• Familiarity with American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.

• Knowledge of the effects of psychotropic medications prescribed by medical professionals.

• Experience managing clients with co-occurring disorders, including addiction and other complex mental health issues.
