Assistant Professor of Public Affairs and Adminstration (2 positions)

Position Assistant Professor (2 positions). Full‑time tenure-track. Date of appointment: Fall Semester 2027. Rank and Salary Rank: Assistant Professor. Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience and will be provided by Academic Affairs (subject to budgetary authorization). Duties Teach graduate courses and advise students—preferably in both the MPA and MS‑HCA degree programs. Maintain an active research portfolio. Assist the department with administrative and/or committee work and assume campus‑wide committee responsibilities. Participate in both synchronous and asynchronous online teaching modalities. Qualifications Earned doctorate in public administration or a related field; ABDs considered provided the Ph.D. is completed by August 2027. Broad-based expertise in core public administration areas including leadership, policy, finance and budgeting, quality assessment and improvement, and strategic planning. Preferred expertise in health care administration. Background in teaching public administration and public management at the graduate level; preference for candidates with experience in both areas. Demonstrated experience mentoring and advising students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds. Record of scholarly achievement and an active research agenda; experience creating research and community involvement opportunities for diverse students. Experience in university and/or community service, including committee participation, and a plan to build a record of service at CSUEB while advancing instructional and research goals.
