About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU/Oncology Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day and Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Overall 2 years of acute care nursing experience is required. At least 1 year of PCU experience is required. License: Registered Nurse license in hand is required. Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications are required. NIHSS certification is required. Must-Have: Recent acute care experience is required. Ability to manage telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias is required. Experience with IV therapy and blood product administration is required. Description: This position involves caring for adult and geriatric patients. The primary focus is on patients diagnosed with acute leukemia. The unit has a heavy emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention. The staffing ratio goal is 1:4, but can vary depending on patient needs. Staff may float to other medical-surgical and oncology units as needed. The position involves a range of procedures and clinical tasks, including PICC line management and peripheral line care. Strong teamwork with interdisciplinary support services is essential. Candidates should be prepared for variable weekend schedules based on unit needs. Candidates must be responsive and cooperative during the credentialing process. Professional references are required. Candidates must maintain compliance with facility policies and procedures throughout their employment. Oncology experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with prior acute care experience are encouraged to apply.
