As a remote position within a school context, you will connect with students and families largely through virtual channels, facilitating counseling and assessment while being an integral part of the school’s support team. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments for students and their families, identifying emotional and social strengths, and areas needing support related to their health, diagnosis, and life circumstances.

• Develop, implement, and continually assess individualized treatment and discharge plans, utilizing appropriate social work interventions tailored to each student's needs.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with the educational team, involving students and families in the treatment planning process to promote a supportive environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
\n
• Facilitate constructive discharge planning by liaising with educational staff, mental health providers, and community resources to ensure a seamless transition for students returning from hospitalization.
\n
• Provide education and counseling to students and families regarding management strategies for adapting to illness, enhancing coping mechanisms, and promoting emotional resilience.
\n
• Utilize crisis intervention techniques when necessary, offering brief and long-term individual, group, and family therapies.
\n
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotations to address urgent mental health concerns, demonstrating commitment to patient care outside of regular hours.

• Contribute to educational conferences, sharing expertise in psychosocial practices to aid in the advancement of knowledge and skills within the field.

• Support community engagement through outreach, education, and collaboration with local resources aimed at benefiting cancer survivors and other affected individuals.

This position primarily focuses on students dealing with various emotional and psychological challenges, including those related to chronic illnesses, academic pressures, and life transitions. You will engage with a diverse population while fostering a supportive environment that encourages individual growth and resilience among young patients.

Qualifications\n

• Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program.

• Current New York State license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

• Strong understanding of psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and evidence-based therapeutic practices.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience in school social work, especially working with adolescents and families.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation for this role ranges between USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
