Support students and make a difference in an inclusive learning environment as a paraprofessional providing maternity leave coverage in a BRIDGES autism support classroom. This contract role offers a set Monday through Friday daytime schedule supporting elementary-age students with varying needs on the autism spectrum. The assignment runs from late October through the end of March and is located onsite.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Delaware Paraeducator Permit is required (permit must not be pending; if permit is pending, please provide a screenshot from the DEEDS portal)
  • Previous experience assisting students on the autism spectrum or in special education settings preferred
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced classroom environment
  • Must complete $85 CBC fingerprinting (please confirm your willingness prior to submission)
  • If you hold an RBT credential, note the district and agency do not provide BCBA supervision; certification must be managed outside school hours
  • Resume and permit documentation required for consideration

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development of students in an autism support classroom
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and classroom routines
  • Foster a positive, supportive atmosphere where all students feel included and empowered
  • Provide one-on-one or small group assistance as directed by teaching staff
  • Monitor student progress and communicate observations to the classroom team
