Job Description

Make a meaningful impact working directly with students at the elementary level as a dedicated paraprofessional. This contract opportunity runs through June 2027 and offers the chance to support growth and development in a dynamic school environment.

In this position, you’ll provide one-on-one adult support to students at an elementary school, working collaboratively with teachers and educational teams. The role is onsite, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Key Qualifications:

Active Delaware Paraeducator Permit in hand is required (pending permits not accepted; must provide verification).
Prior experience as a paraprofessional in schools, particularly at the elementary level, strongly preferred.
Ability to fulfill requirements for fingerprinting/background check (candidate is responsible for associated cost).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Adaptable and proactive, able to manage changing classroom needs and priorities.
Resourceful and compassionate, motivated by supporting learners’ growth.

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver direct adult support under the guidance of classroom educators.
Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
Assist in academic and behavioral accommodations per individual student needs.
Maintain accurate records and uphold student confidentiality.
Collaborate with teaching staff and participate in ongoing professional development as needed.
