Job Description

Step into a rewarding, contract-based role supporting middle school students with special needs in an engaging classroom setting. This opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful difference by providing essential paraprofessional assistance alongside dedicated educational staff.

You’ll work closely with two sixth-grade special education students, acting as a shared paraprofessional alongside their individual support providers. This onsite role involves collaborating directly within the classroom, fostering both academic and social growth in a supportive environment. The assignment is set to run through early June 2027, offering steady weekday hours and ample time to connect with students and colleagues alike.

Key Qualifications:

Active Delaware Paraeducator Permit is required; applications with pending status must include a screenshot from the DEEDS portal for consideration
Previous paraprofessional experience in a school or special education setting preferred
Comfortable working as part of a close-knit team, supporting multiple students at once
Excellent communication skills, patience, and reliability
Willingness to complete $85 CBC fingerprinting prior to employment

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver in-class academic and behavioral support to two sixth-grade students under the direction of classroom teachers
Collaborate with 1:1 paraprofessionals to develop and implement individualized strategies
Foster a positive, inclusive environment that nurtures student learning and independence
Assist with daily classroom routines and promote social interaction
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all school policies and professional standards
