Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Intermediate Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Heart and Vascular Intermediate Care – Wisconsin Start Date: September 28, 2026 Location: Wisconsin Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: Evening/Night shifts, 8 or 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Monday through Friday with every other weekend required. 4:1 patient ratio. 36 hours of orientation provided. Highlights: Work in a 15-bed Heart and Vascular Intermediate Care Unit at a Magnet-designated Level I Trauma Center Care for vascular surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, and cardiology patients including post-operative aneurysm repairs, carotid endarterectomies, cardiac surgery stepdown patients, and complex wound care Utilize Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy Manage complex interventions including chest tubes, temporary pacing wires, insulin drips, vasoactive drips, heparin protocols, and central line management Participate in shared governance and unit-based councils focused on quality improvement and evidence-based practice Patient-and-family focused care model with daily interdisciplinary care team rounds Requirements: Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only) Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in MS/Telemetry Required skills: MS/Tele experience, telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia management, arterial line management, central line care, BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, IV starts and maintenance Experience with Epic charting system required Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred Must pass telemetry examination prior to start with strict passing criteria (80% or higher, 100% identification of lethal rhythms) Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only) Must reside 50 miles or more from the facility Willingness to float as needed within scope of practice Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to advance your critical care nursing skills at a nationally recognized, Magnet-designated teaching hospital ranked as Wisconsin's top healthcare facility.
