Details Critical Care Float role covering multiple ICU units, including Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic, Burn ICU, and Trauma Surgery Also supports IMC/Progressive and general care populations Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30 Every other weekend required with some holiday coverage Floating required as needed across critical care units Uses Epic charting system Requirements Active WI RN license or compact RN license required Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only) NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being applied to 5 years of experience preferred Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months Academic Level 1 Trauma Center experience required Teaching hospital experience preferred Charge nurse experience preferred Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting the assignment, including adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation with strict passing criteria Skilled in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, PICC line management, and blood product administration Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation required Experience with CVP monitoring, IABP, Impella, ECMO, and post cardiac surgery care preferred Experience with EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgical or stroke care preferred Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and administering continuous IV sedation/paralytics Experience with CRRT/CVVHD required Knowledge of infection prevention, isolation precautions, and dysrhythmia management required Additional Information Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties including neuro, cardiovascular, burn, and trauma units Work within a Magnet-designated, academic Level 1 Trauma Center ranked as Wisconsin's 1 hospital Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted Parking permit required if parking onsite, with alternative transportation options available Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction, respiratory failure, and complex cardiac or neurological conditions Collaborate within a high-acuity academic hospital environment supporting advanced procedures such as ECMO and CRRT American Traveler Job ID P-748619.
