Interim Accounting Manager

Interim Accounting Manager – Tampa, FL (Hybrid) We are partnering with a growing organization seeking an experienced Interim Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations and provide leadership across multiple business units. This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to work closely with executive leadership while driving financial performance, compliance, process improvements, and team development. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Reporting Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting activities Monitor financial performance and provide recommendations to improve results Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports Support executive leadership with financial insights and strategic decision‑making Compliance & Internal Controls Ensure compliance with GAAP, financial regulations, and reporting requirements Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate risk Implement process improvements to strengthen financial operations and reporting accuracy Budgeting & Financial Planning Lead the annual budgeting process in partnership with department leaders Monitor budget performance and provide guidance on cost management initiatives Develop financial models and forecasts to support business objectives Team Leadership Manage, mentor, and develop accounting and finance staff Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement Support the professional growth of team members through coaching and leadership Systems & Payroll Oversight Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting tools, and automation Oversee payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely payroll administration Partner closely with HR to support payroll compliance and process integration Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting and finance experience At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting Experience managing multiple business units, locations, or brands preferred Residential services industry experience strongly preferred Advanced financial analysis and modeling skills Experience with ERP systems and financial software Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% Benefits Medical, dental, and vision benefits 401(k) retirement plan Discretionary bonuses Travel up to 20% EEO Notice Vaco by Highspring is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race (including but not limited to traits historically associated with race such as hair texture and hair style), color, sex (includes pregnancy or related conditions), religion or creed, national origin, citizenship, age, disability, status as a veteran, union membership, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, political affiliation, or any other protected characteristics as required by federal, state or local law.
