Counselors will utilize teletherapy platforms to conduct sessions, ensuring accessibility and convenience for both clients and providers.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial interviews and assessments of clients to document their mental and emotional health needs.

• Evaluate and monitor clients' progress throughout their treatment plans, adjusting interventions as needed.
\n
• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans based on each client's unique circumstances, incorporating evidence-based practices.
\n
• Facilitate individual therapy sessions and group therapy workshops, creating a safe and supportive environment for discussion and healing.
\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other mental health professionals, to create comprehensive and effective treatment strategies.

• Identify behaviors that could impede a patient’s recovery and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.
\n
• Consult with caregivers and family members to provide guidance on managing mental health challenges within the home.
\n
• Keep accurate and up-to-date electronic health records using management systems like AVATAR for all client interactions and treatment updates.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clients encompass a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and experiences, with many experiencing various mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related disorders, and substance use issues. You will be instrumental in creating a therapeutic relationship that promotes healing and empowerment, aiming to guide clients toward sustainable mental health improvements.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current, valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
\n
• Passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Significant experience working as a mental health counselor;

• Strong familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, and the documentation processes necessary to ensure compliance and continuity of care.

• Solid understanding of addiction disorders, as well as underlying physical and emotional health conditions.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex concepts clearly and empathetically.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, along with a naturally sympathetic disposition that fosters trust and connection.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working in a collaborative inter-professional environment.
\n
• Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Familiarity with medication prescribed for mental health disorders and the related side effects.
\n
• Prior experience in a remote or telehealth counseling setting is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits\n
