The Orthopedic Physical Therapist will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional rehabilitation services at New Balance Movement Physical Therapy located in North Fort Myers, Florida. Key Responsibilities

• Direct physical therapy treatment toward preventing disability, relieving pain, and restoring muscle function in accordance with established plans of care.
• Oversee the implementation of treatment plans by supervising physical therapy assistants to ensure quality patient care.
• Conduct thorough assessments of clients' functional capabilities, using diagnostic tools and tests to evaluate muscle, nerve, and joint function.
• Assess home environments to facilitate rehabilitation and provide recommendations to enhance client independence.
• Administer manual therapeutic exercises while providing instructions, motivation, and support for patients during non-manual exercises and functional activities.
• Implement therapies involving the application of physical agents such as traction and massage, while modifying techniques as needed for individual cases.
• Fit and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices, making suggestions for modifications in consultation with the physician.
• Participate actively in the development, review, and refinement of care plans to align with patient progress and feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of patient evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries for clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team during case conferences to coordinate comprehensive treatment strategies for clients.
• Provide guidance to clients and their families regarding care, therapy devices, and overall treatment programs.
• Submit timely clinical and payroll documentation in compliance with branch policies.
• Instruct and supervise Physical Therapy Assistants in delivering patient care, ensuring adherence to state regulations.
• Assess resource utilization and participate in community resource planning to enhance client support services.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on orthopedic patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions affecting their mobility and function. You will engage with a diverse patient population, ranging from athletes recovering from sports injuries to elderly individuals rehabilitating post-surgery. Your expertise will be vital in developing individualized treatment plans that help restore their quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of one year of experience in a physical therapy setting, preferably with exposure to orthopedic cases.
• State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist in Florida.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and patient education.
• Demonstrated ability to assess patient conditions and create comprehensive treatment plans.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of one year of experience is required, candidates with additional experience in orthopedic rehabilitation or specialized training in advanced therapeutic techniques will be highly considered. Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is also preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, offering between USD 100,000 and 120,000 annually based on experience and qualifications.
