RN Cardiac Cath Lab Pre/Post PACU

The Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab Holding Area provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac and vascular procedures. This role involves pre-procedure preparation, post-procedure recovery, and Phase I/II PACU-level care, including patient assessment, education, procedural support, hemodynamic monitoring, and moderate sedation recovery. The nurse manages acute and non-acute clinical situations within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment to ensure exceptional patient outcomes. Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient assessments before and after cardiac and electrophysiology procedures.
• Provide patient education related to procedures and recovery.
• Support procedural activities in the Cath and EP Labs.
• Monitor hemodynamic status and manage telemetry monitoring.
• Manage moderate sedation recovery and Phase I/II PACU-level care.
• Respond to acute and non-acute clinical situations promptly and effectively.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and outcomes.

• Active Registered Nurse license in New York State.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably including Cath Lab and EP Lab experience.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certification.
• Experience in telemetry monitoring.

• Recent Cath Lab and Electrophysiology Lab experience.
• Experience in CVICU or cardiac care units.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record system in the specialty area.

• Work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment requiring strong clinical judgment.
• May require occasional weekend shifts based on unit needs.
• Must be able to manage moderate sedation and hemodynamic monitoring safely.

• 40 hours per week, scheduled as four 10-hour shifts.
• Day and night rotation shifts.
• Occasional weekend shifts as needed by the unit.
