RN Emergency Department

The AZ-ED Registered Nurse (Day Shift) provides skilled nursing care within a dynamic Emergency Department setting consisting of multiple specialized units including Main ED, Fast Track, and Observation. The role requires rotation through various ED areas such as Triage, Quick Registration, Covid Tent, and Entry Screening, adapting to patient volume and unit needs. The nurse collaborates closely with the interdisciplinary team to deliver timely, quality emergency care and may assist with Covid testing and immunization clinics as needed. A minimum of two years recent RN experience in the specialty is required. Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care in Triage, Quick Registration, Covid Tent, and Entry Screening as assigned.
• Adapt to daily assignment changes and potential intra-shift rotations based on patient volume and unit needs.
• Assist with Covid testing and immunization clinics when required.
• Float to other qualified departments as needed, performing patient care or task-oriented duties.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.

• Active Registered Nurse license with at least 2 years recent RN experience in Emergency Nursing or related specialty.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
• Conscious sedation certification (facility-obtained after confirmation).
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities.

• Experience with Covid testing and immunization procedures.
• Familiarity with multiple emergency department care areas and fast-paced environments.

• Must be flexible to rotate through various ED units daily and possibly within shifts.
• May be required to float to other departments where qualified.
• Facility relies heavily on contractors; shift assignments may change based on staffing needs.
• Conscious sedation certification fee covered by facility.

• Day shift hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Typical schedule is 7 days on, 7 days off with alternating 36 and 48 hour weeks.
• Maximum of one week Return to Office (RTO) if needed.
• Shifts may change during the contract to cover day or mid shifts as required.
