RN Emergency Department

The AZ-ED Registered Nurse (Mid Shift) provides skilled nursing care across multiple areas of the Emergency Department, including Main ED, Fast Track, and Observation Unit. This role requires flexibility to rotate through various ED sections daily, support triage, registration, Covid testing, and immunization clinics. The nurse collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced environment, requiring at least two years of recent RN experience in emergency nursing or related specialty. Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care in the Main ED, Fast Track, and ED Observation Unit, rotating regularly between these areas.
• Perform patient triage, quick registration, and entry screening duties as assigned.
• Assist with Covid testing and immunization clinics as needed.
• Adapt to changing assignments and patient care areas based on volume and unit needs, including floating to other qualified departments.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
• Respond to patient needs including call lights and phone inquiries when assigned to task-oriented roles.

• Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience in emergency nursing or relevant specialty.
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Arizona.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Advanced certifications including ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC, and conscious sedation certification (facility-provided).
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and emergency nursing skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Experience working in a fast-paced emergency department setting.
• Familiarity with Covid testing protocols and immunization clinic operations.
• Flexibility to work across multiple ED units and adapt to varying patient care demands.

• Must be willing to rotate daily between ED areas and possibly during shifts based on patient volume.
• May be required to float to other qualified departments as needed.
• Conscious sedation certification fee covered by the facility after confirmation.

• 12-hour shifts with a typical schedule of 7 days on and 7 days off.
• Alternating weekly hours: 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next.
• Maximum of one week Return to Office (RTO) if needed.
• Shift assignments may change during the contract, including day, mid, or night shifts, to accommodate staffing needs.
