RN Emergency Department

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) provides expert nursing care to patients in a Level III Trauma Hospital emergency setting. This PRN role involves planning and delivering care in a 13-bed ED with trauma bays, focusing on emergency and trauma patients. The RN collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality, timely interventions in a fast-paced environment, requiring advanced certifications and a minimum of three years of emergency nursing experience. Responsibilities:

• Plan and provide nursing care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
• Perform patient assessments and implement emergency nursing interventions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient status and care provided.
• Respond to trauma and emergency situations following established protocols.
• Participate in rotating on-call and weekend coverage as required.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures including infection control and patient safety standards.

• Current Colorado Registered Nurse license or eligibility to obtain.
• Minimum of 3 years of RN experience in an Emergency Department setting.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• Current Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification.
• Mandatory annual influenza vaccination (no declinations accepted) between October 1 and April 1.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and emergency nursing skills.

• Experience working in a Level III trauma center or similar emergency care environment.
• Additional certifications related to emergency nursing or trauma care.

• PRN position requiring flexibility in scheduling.
• Work includes rotating call and weekend shifts.
• Must comply with hospital vaccination policies.
• Work environment involves high-acuity trauma and emergency cases.

• Work schedule consists of three 12-hour night shifts per week.
• Shifts include rotating call and weekend coverage.
• Assignment is expected to conclude around December 31, 2027.
